A Tad Long for Auto Use : Belkin Mini-Stereo Cable for Apple iPhone

There is no need to get the Belkin iPhone audio adapter if you get this cable - it is already iPhone ready. I have a car that has an audio input jack for .mp3 players, including iPod. With this cable, I have no problem and need no adapter to hear the music on my iPhone, and when I get an incoming call, the music dims to silence and I can answer via my bluetooth headset or just pick up the phone.

While it might make sense for home stereo use, who needs 6 feet of this cable for use in your car? There is so much extra cable, it's silly. I have a 'panic bar' above the glove box, so I have wound the extra length of cable here... to keep it from hanging low where a passenger could accidentally yank it w/ their foot, potentially damaging the audio jack, cable or the iPhone itself.

I suppose the length of cable is supposed to make you feel better for having spent this much on a cable. The ends are nice quality and pretty sturdy and the thick cable is nicely insulated, less likely to have interference from crimping.

My less than perfect rating is that there should be an option for shorter lengths - or at least it should come with a winding system.

Like others found, this cable won't charge the iPhone 4 : Cosmos ® White Cable 3 Ft USB Charge and Sync Data Cable + Dock Connector Extender Extension Cable for Ipod Touch Iphone 4 4s 3 3Gs + Cosmos Cable Tie

A good extender cable should PASS audio and this one does! Some dock extender cables do not pass all 30 pins and only charge and sync this cable properly will charge and allow your audio to pass to your docking station to play thru. Half the ones I have bought on ebay claim to be 30 pin and are not ! good cable at a good price , thanks Amazon !

Works great with iPod Nano 4th Gen! NEED TO SWITCH TO JP mode!!!! : Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter for iPod (Black)

I was hesitant at first because I read reviews about the display being hard to read in the daytime and about the sound quality to be crap but found that both of these reviews were wrong. I live near DC so we have a lot of radio stations and depending on where/how far you're driving will determine if/how frequently you'll have to change your FM transmitter station. I really like this type of transmitter compared to the docking station kind because I can pass the iPod in the car to whomever to flip through songs as opposed to having to be in arms reach of the cigg lighter and twisting it to see the iPod display. It worked so well we bought one for the other car and although it didn't say it in the description at the time this also works for our 4th gen Nano.

**Edit- Although the bought both from the same store the second one I received had a different screen than the first. The first had a plain screen as the one shown in the picture but the second one seemed to have a gray/quasi reflective screen. I can still see the display fine during the day and you wont be changing the station constantly so it shouldn't be a huge deal.
